The Wisconsin Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) provides training and technical resources to help Wisconsin local officials effectively maintain roads and improve street and highway safety.
LTAP delivers dozens of workshops each year and offers two certificate programs: the Public Works Supervisory Academy (PWSA) and the Public Works Management Institute (PWMI).
LTAP provides technical assistance to Wisconsin local agencies, distributes practical technical publications, maintains a multi-media lending library and supports a pavement management system for local roads.
The LTAP scholarship program allows Wisconsin local agency officials and staff to attend transportation related Interdisciplinary Professional Programs non-credit continuing education courses at the University of Wisconsin-Madison at a significantly reduced fee.
LTAP is a project of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Interdisciplinary Professional Programs, and is supported by funding from the Federal Highway Administration and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
LTAP services are provided to Wisconsin local government agencies. LTAP is part of the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) which supports an LTAP center in each state. If you are from outside of Wisconsin, you can find information for your state LTAP center.
